It's hard to believe I've been at this for a year.

This "pet" project continues to allow me to do what I love the very most: make audio, nerd out about animals while meeting many of them in the process (including their humans). I am so grateful that people are willing to make time for me, whether it was to share:

Their expertise or research such as Matthew Brower (Episode 2) who researched the long tradition of animal photography for his book, Developing Animals: Wildlife and Early American Photography.

Or entrusting me with the story of their companion animal, like Karyn and Andrew who's dog Maisy (Episode 6) had to take time off from her duty of shop dog at The Workroom in Toronto. I even got to meet Maisy this year, as you can see in the photo, I was more excited about the encounter than Maisy (I'm okay with that). And Nanette and her brave pup, Punchy (Episode 9) fought for his life with the help of strangers on the internet.

Or those with a cause that centres around animals, including the Boyle Street Community Services' Pet Food Bank and Alberta Helping Animals Society detailed on Episode 4 as well as the Tuxedo Party of Canada Cat Welfare Society (Episode 10).

In 2016, I'll be embarking on Season 2 and continuing to explore pet culture and what it reveals about us.
